| Internal and external communications services are provided to Matawa First Nations by Firedog Communications in Thunder Bay. The Communications office is responsible for strategic communications planning and management, media relations, branding and creative, and the production of Matawa communications materials. It is the goal of the Communications office to implement a communications network that improves information sharing between the Matawa First Nations and provides essential communications resources to the Matawa people. Radio, newsletters, website, brochures, workshops and posters are just some of the tools used to share news in and around the Matawa First Nations. Media Relations is also an important function of the Matawa Communications office. Communications staff coordinate directly with the Matawa Chiefs to bring the important Matawa issues to the attention of the public and governments through the media.
