The Matawa First Nations Corporation is a non-profit organization that provides a wide variety of advisory services and programs directly to Matawa First Nations. It was formed in 1998 and operates from two office locations; a head office in Ginoogaming First Nation and a branch office located in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
The corporation’s mission statement is:
To support Matawa First Nations membership regain and refocus strong, healthy, self sufficient communities, Economically, Recreationally, Spiritually, Politically, and Educationally by providing on going advisory services through programs, resources and communication.
Since 1988, the Matawa Corporation has experienced many positive changes through the growth and development of its member communities. The corporate strategy is to continue to build foundations for the future. This means evolving and adapting to meet the needs of the member communities, while providing the highest level of service and leadership.
