The Financial Advisory Department would greatly benefit through comprehensive and current information on issues pertaining to community finance, management and governance; therefore, each First Nation is encouraged by Matawa First Nations Managment to allow the Financial Advisor to shadow First Nations leaders and management at appropriate meetings where finance, management and governance issues are being discussed and/or negotiated. This would allow departmental staff to learn, first-hand, about current issues and, thus, permit improved advisory and advocacy services in the future.
