Regional Framework Project

Read Media Release

The Matawa Regional Framework project is working on behalf of the nine member First Nations of Matawa to ensure that the communities and their members have the opportunity to participate and benefit from potential developments in the area.

Matawa First Nations are committed to building economic strength and sustainable development in their traditional territory for the benefit of current and future generations.

By working together, the Matawa First Nations can better ensure that First Nation rights and interests are protected, and that opportunities for jobs, business and partnerships are maximized.

The Matawa Regional Framework Project works to :

  1. Support our First Nations to make informed decisions about any potential developments that may occur in their territories.
  2. Ensure that the best interests of our First Nations are put at the forefront of any decisions regarding economic or industrial development.
  3. Support individual community plans while working together on shared priorities.
