KKETS Producing an Aboriginal Workforce: Heavy Equipment Operators Training a Success

On September 12th 2014 the RoFATA initiative through Kiikenomaga Kikenjigewen Employment & Training Services (KKETS) saw another group of Heavy Equipment Operators graduate from The Operating Engineers Training Institute in Morrisburg. The ten trainees spent 10 weeks onsite at the state of the art training facility where they gained the hours necessary to obtain MTCU/OETIO Certification.  Training consisted of both a theory and a practical portion on two pieces of equipment out the three options; Tractor-Loader Backhoe, Excavator and Doze, all ten completed both portions of training. This is just one of the many successful programs that have been offered through The Ring of Fire Aboriginal Training alliance at KKETS. Current programs running are the Security program and another cohort of Heavy Equipment Operators.

Congratulations to all of the Heavy Equipment Operators and best of luck in your future endeavors!
