Kiikenomaga Kikenjigewen Employment & Training Services
Kiikenomaga Kikenjigewen Employment & Training Services (KKETS) is the Aboriginal Skills Employment Training Agreement (ASETA) holder for Matawa First Nations through Service Canada. KKETS is governed by a Board of Directors made up of nine representatives—one from each Matawa First Nation.
A key strength of the KKETS model is the presence of Employment Community Coordinators in every Matawa First Nation. These coordinators serve as a direct liaison with KKETS, supporting the delivery and implementation of training programs within their communities.
Our Objective
KKETS aims to provide culturally appropriate education, training, and employment opportunities. KKETS offers professional advisory and support services, along with relevant programs and systems that empower individuals to take initiative and create positive change in their own lives.
Since its establishment in 2012, KKETS has supported Matawa members in accessing individual training, training supports, and First Nation job-creation opportunities. In response to the growing labour market in the skilled trades and mining sector, KKETS has introduced several initiatives designed to meet the evolving needs of our communities.
