ENGLOBE RAISES $5,000 FOR ACHIEVING THE DREAM THROUGH EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND

THUNDER BAY, ON — Achieving the Dream Through Education (ATDTE) is pleased to announce that Englobe has raised $5,000 in support of Matawa students through community BBQs hosted at their Thunder Bay and Sudbury branches. The funds, which were presented to Matawa Education at an event at Englobe in Thunder Bay on September 19, 2025, will go directly toward the 2025/26 Englobe Scholarship, creating new opportunities for Matawa youth to pursue their education and dreams.

“We are so grateful to Englobe for not only their generous fundraising efforts but also for the sense of community spirit they bring to events like these,” said Georgette O’Nabigon, executive director of Matawa Education. “This scholarship will make a real difference in the lives of students who are working hard to achieve their goals.”

“We’re so proud to support Matawa youth in reaching their educational goals through the Achieving the Dream Through Education Charity,” added Ed Collins, manager of Indigenous relations for Englobe. “Supporting the communities where we work is part of who we are at Englobe, and this initiative reflects our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous students.”

The BBQs brought together staff, partners, and community members to share a meal and give back to a cause that directly impacts children and youth across Matawa communities. ATDTE would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Englobe for hosting such a wonderful (and delicious) event, and for their ongoing commitment to supporting education and community development.

Achieving the Dream Through Education is a registered charity that provides awards, scholarships, bursaries, and educational supports to Matawa First Nations youth. By reducing barriers to education and supporting cultural, academic, and personal growth, ATDTE helps youth pursue their dreams and strengthen their communities.
