MATAWA FIRST NATIONS JOIN BOWMANVILLE ROTARY CLUB IN POST SECONDARY GRADUATION AND AWARDS BANQUET
THUNDER BAY, ON: The Matawa First Nations Education Department and the Bowmanville Rotary Club will be recognizing the achievements of students at various stages of their educational journey and presenting bursaries at the 2015/2016 Matawa Post Secondary Graduation and Rotary Awards Banquet on Thursday, June 2, 2016.
A presentation of graduation gifts will take place for twenty-one graduates from the Matawa communities who have completed studies in college or university. One of these students will be receiving the Matawa Post Secondary Award for 2015/2016.
Four members of the Bowmanville Rotary Club will be present to provide bursaries in five categories in elementary, secondary, post secondary, training/apprenticeship/trades/continuing education and academic excellence. A total of seventeen bursaries will be awarded.
For the last eight years, the Bowmanville Rotary Club have had a unique partnership with the Matawa Education Department in collaborating on an annual bursary program. Located in southern Ontario about 75 kms east of Toronto, the Bowmanville Rotary Club generously offers this program to encourage individuals in achieving their educational aspirations.
