Financial Advisory
Matawa Financial Advisory Services assists with enhancing Matawa First Nations’ management, administration, and quality of life by delivering accounting/bookkeeping, governance, and financial management advisory services. The Financial Advisory staff will work with the First Nations’ management and other key personnel to advance accounting/bookkeeping, governance, and financial related matters.
Other services may include working with communities who may be in default management with the government to work on Management Action Plans, repayment plans with third-parties, and generally in the areas of banking and insurance.
Matawa Financial Advisory Services staff will be available to work with the community finance personnel in the areas of computerized accounting/bookkeeping, financial planning, policy development, reporting, and audit preparation. There will be a library of resources that is frequently updated on the three main areas the Financial Advisory Services covers (see links below), i.e. accounting/bookkeeping, governance, and finance. It will include information on various topics including sample templates, policies, procedures, forms, work instruction checklists along with information on best practices. Member First Nations are invited to suggest resources to be added and shared based on what has worked for them and by doing so it can be shared with all communities.
In addition, we will provide other financial information resources for individuals to access on their own time in terms of personal financial management.
