Communications
Matawa Communications provides communications advisory and support to the Matawa Chiefs Council, the CEO’s office, and to Matawa First Nation Management’s departments, services, and corporations. It also responds to Matawa First Nation community requests for communications assistance such as:
- Media monitoring and support (media advisories, media releases, public relations)
- Development of informational and promotional materials (brochures, posters, reports, etc.)
- Brand implementation and visual identity
- Website/cultural portal/intranet updates (shared with Matawa IT Services)
- Social media updates and monitoring
- Radio broadcasting, recording, PA systems
- Translation
- Quality Assurance
Matawa Communications aims to ensure Matawa First Nations receive timely and relevant information on various international, national, provincial, regional, and local issues that impact them. It distributes information in a wide variety of formats including print, radio broadcast, email blasts, on our website and social media. Matawa currently uses Facebook, X, and Flickr to inform, engage in and encourage social networking. It works to raise awareness and support about the priorities and issues of the Matawa First Nations Peoples and manages/coordinates strategic communications and media relations.
Matawa Radio Show
The Matawa Radio Show features news, announcements, job opportunities and interviews with Matawa First Nations Management staff highlighting Matawa’s programs and services. Catch the Matawa Radio Show every other Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT) at:
